21 Savage
21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph on October 22, 1992, in Plaistow, London, England, is a British-born rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Moving to Atlanta, Georgia with his mother at a young age, he grew up there and began his music trajectory. He initially captured attention in 2015 with his mixtapes, notably "The Slaughter Tape" and "Slaughter King." His collaboration with producer Metro Boomin on the mixtape "Savage Mode" in 2016 catapulted him to stardom. Among his hits is "Bank Account" from his first studio album "Issa Album" and "Rockstar," a collaboration with Post Malone that topped the Billboard Hot 100. In 2018, he released his second album "I Am > I Was," which secured the top spot on the Billboard 200, featuring acclaimed tracks like "A Lot" with J. Cole. A significant revelation in 2019 was that 21 Savage is a British citizen who had overstayed his visa. He faced detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement but was later released. This incident spotlighted immigration matters and the situation of the Dreamers in the U.S. Besides music, 21 Savage is a philanthropist, launching the "21 Savage Bank Account Campaign" to promote financial literacy among kids. His musical style is recognized for its moody beats and lyrics that often delve into his challenging upbringing, the violence he experienced, and street life. He remains a pivotal figure in hip-hop, known for his unique style and collaborations with several top artists.
